An intimate reflection on self and space, framed by El Gouna’s calm energy and the understated elegance of La Maison Bleue, Egypt.

SELF DISCOVERY

There’s something about El Gouna that doesn’t rush you. It doesn’t ask you to arrive fully formed. It lets you unfold. This season of my life feels a lot like that. Less about becoming someone new, and more about remembering who I’ve always been beneath the noise, the expectations, the timelines I once thought I had to follow.

I’m learning that becoming isn’t loud. It’s quiet, layered, sometimes even uncomfortable.
It’s choosing to soften where I once hardened. It’s allowing space for joy without needing to justify it. It’s trusting that evolution doesn’t always look like forward motion, sometimes it looks like stillness.

In El Gouna, surrounded by water, wind, and architecture that feels both intentional and effortless, I’m reminded that life can be both structured and free at the same time. That I can hold ambition and ease in the same breath. That I can build, dream, lead and still remain deeply connected to self.

This version of me is less about proving and more about being. Less about chasing and more about aligning.
And in that, there’s a quiet kind of confidence.

EL GOUNA, EGYPT
AS A DESTINATION

El Gouna is less about checking things off and more about how you move through it. It’s not a place you rush through. It’s a place you feel.

Mornings begin slowly. A quiet breakfast by the water, sunlight stretching across the lagoons, the kind of stillness that lets you ease into yourself before the day asks anything of you. You can spend hours simply existing here, walking along the marina, drifting between cafés, or taking a boat out where the sea feels endless and time disappears.

By afternoon, the energy shifts. Beach clubs come alive, music carries through the air, and there’s a rhythm to the town that feels both vibrant and unforced. You move from sun to shade, from water to conversation, from solitude to connection without ever feeling overwhelmed.

And then at night, El Gouna softens again. Dinner becomes an experience, not a task. Whether it’s by the marina or tucked into a quiet corner, everything slows just enough for you to take it in. The lights reflect on the water, conversations linger, and there’s this quiet sense that you’re exactly where you need to be.

LA MAISON BLEUE ITSELF

La Maison Bleue carries a kind of decadence that feels deeply intentional, never excessive, just richly considered. The interiors are layered in a way that invites you to linger. Handcrafted tiles, carved wood, intricate textiles, and antique pieces all come together with a quiet confidence. There’s history in the walls, artistry in every corner, and a sense that nothing was chosen lightly. It doesn’t feel decorated, it feels collected, like a living gallery shaped over time.

The palette is warm and grounding, with deep tones, soft neutrals, and moments of color that catch you by surprise. Light moves through the space beautifully, touching different textures throughout the day, making the entire villa feel alive, almost breathing. What stands out most is the restraint within the richness. You notice the curve of a chair, the weight of adoor handle, the way fabrics fall effortlessly across a space.

Beyond the design, the experience is held together by a level of care that feels both impeccable and deeply human. The food is thoughtful, refined, and comforting all at once, while the service is warm, intuitive, and never intrusive. You feel looked after without ever feeling managed. It’s easily one of the most beautiful properties I’ve experienced, a feeling I haven’t had since my wedding at La Fortaleza in Mallorca, Spain. There’s that same sense of timelessness, of being heldwithin something truly special.
