4 Ways To Stay Hydrated This Summer

We’ve heard the saying many times; stay hydrated by drinking x amount of water daily. We’re not discrediting the amazing benefits of water but if we’re being honest, it can get a little boring sometimes.

So we've decided to provide you with four other delicious and healthy ways to stay hydrated.

Coconut Water

Coconuts are packed with minerals, electrolytes and simple sugars that are sure to give you an energy boost and leave you feeling more than hydrated. It’s always best to get the water straight from the coconut so visit your local farmers' market or grocery store. Not able to get your hands on a coconut? Don't worry, there are plenty of alternatives like this. Always take a quick look at the ingredients to be sure of what you're getting. Now, sit back and enjoy. Coconut water = greatness. You’re welcome.

Watermelon

Watermelons contain 92% of water. Enough said. Try switching it up by adding peppermint leaves to your watermelon slices. You can even get watermelon water in a bottle now.

Iced Green Tea

We're no strangers to the amazing benefits of green tea. Green tea is rich in antioxidants and it is said to help greatly with weight loss, cardiovascular diseases and cancer prevention. Homemade anything is always the best way to go so try making it yourself as opposed to buying it from the store. Simple brew green tea then pour it into a cup filled with ice. Make sure you brew the tea long enough to increase the concentration because the ice dilutes it overtime. Feel free to add mint or lavender leaves for some flavor. Enjoy!

Smoothies

Fruits and vegetables are densely packed with water and fibers. That means two things; you’ll stay full longer and your body gets the necessary fluids it needs. Smoothies are an easy way to get your fluids (and nutrients) in without too much thought. Pick your favorite greens (like kale or spinach), some fresh or frozen fruits, water and then blend it all and pour into your favorite smoothie cup. There are hundreds of recipes out there so experiment and have fun!
