It’s February and also a month to celebrate love and our history! As a Nigerian born brand, we want to spread the love and highlight other unique Black owned businesses during this special month that celebrates Black History.

Epara means “to cocoon oneself” in the Nigerian dialect of Ebira, this skincare line is designed for specific skincare issues for women of color. We love their sleek packaging and high quality ingredients, the ultimate self love treat.

 

AAKS is an accessories label founded by Akosua Afriyie-Kumi, owner and Creative Director of the brand, inspired by her home country of Ghana. The carefully handcrafted basket style handbags boast a colour palette and quirky detailing that will work for any occasion. 

 

 

Lulu Lingerie is a Nigerian based lingerie brand catering to woman with fuller bust sizes, in addition to select mens and kidswear ranges.

 

We are NBO, a Nairobi based sustainable jewellery designer inspired by nature and natural forms. The striking gold pieces are enhanced by the complex and lifelike structures and are sure to flatter all complexions, we particularly love the Deviendra Drops earrings shaped like orchid flowers. 

 

 
Kahmune is a shoe label focussing on nude shoes for all skin tones. Owned by Jamela Acheampong, Kahmune aims to close the gap in the market for ‘nude’ coloured footwear. Make sure to check out their recently launched nude tote bags to keep your whole outfit in balance. 

 

Studio Nom is a home decor brand based in the Netherlands, using the traditional technique of macrame to create intricate wall hangings and home decor pieces. The natural fibres and geometric shapes bring a well balanced and calming presence for all interiors.

 

UOMA Beauty is owned by Nigerian Born Sharon Chuter, UOMA meaning ‘beautiful’ in the Nigerian dialect of Igbo. The product range is inspired by the ethnic diversity across the African continent and is known for their highly pigmented colour palettes to compliment all skin tones and bring a pop of vibrancy to your look.  

 

 

GLEMAUD is a designer leisurewear collection of statement knitwear, designed for all, headed by Haitian-American Victor Glemaud. The pieces feature block colouring and sleek, elegant shaping.

 

 

Luxury footwear designer Titi Adesa is owned by Lagos native Titi Adesanya and was born from her love for impeccable craftmanship. Ethically & delicately hand-crafted in Milan, Titi Adesa footwear is produced in a family-owned factory utilising the finest artisans in Italy.

 

 

Switch Cosmetics offers high end makeup and beauty products, headed by Creative Director Oby Iyamah Osifo. With a flag ship store also offering in house beauty services, be sure to check out the highly pigmented lip products.
