Health – Coconut oil can be used as a substitute for vegetable oil in all your cooking. Using coconut oil in food can help improve cholesterol levels. It is rich in saturated fats which is known to raise HDL cholesterol (the good kind) and lower the LDL cholesterol (the not so good kind). Coconut oil also increases your energy expenditure, helping you burn more fat during the day. It has also been said to improve insulin sensitivity in type 2 diabetes and reduce body fat accumulation.

Skincare – Coconut oil is great at skin hydration because it helps to retain the moisture in your skin. It leaves your skin feeling smooth and silky and has even been known to have a glow effect. Coconut oil also contains Vitamin E which is essential in preventing premature aging and wrinkling of the skin. Vitamin E also stimulates healthy skin growth. Rich in protein, coconut oil also assists with tissue repair.
